Rescue Squad 

 

The Beekman Rescue Squad is a volunteer ambulance squad located in Beekman, NY that has been serving the residents and businesses of this and neighboring towns for over 60 years.  

 

Our rescue squad volunteers include EMTs and Ambulance Drivers. Being active in the community is an important part of our squad. We participate in fire safety day at Beekman Elementary School, local daycares, the Beekman Library, and community day.

 

Additionally, we rely on the firefighters of the Beekman Fire Department that are trained in rescue and extrication and the Beekman Fire Police who ensure safe traffic and pedestrian conditions at every call help contribute to the service of the squad and community.

We are equipped with a BLS Ambulance (34-71) which carries basic life support equipment:

 

-Stretchers: Wheeled, portable, scoop, basket, flexible and a stair chair

 

-Immobilization: Short spine board, long spine board, KED, Traction Splints, short bone splints, long bone splits, and cervical collars

 

-Treatment: Laerdal 3000 AED, monitor, Pulse Ox Meter, suction, oxygen, Aspirin, epi-pens, oral glucose, Narcan

-Special Situations: Water Rescue, throw rope, chains, flares, and personal protective equipment
